EASTER

Newborn bunnies awaken.  Baby birds with mouths wide open are begging for food.  Colors of pastel pinks, blues and greens on adorable toddlers.  Easter songs sounding in the sanctuary.  Spring is here!  Special meals, family and friends.  Watching kids scurry, running for plastic eggs.  Such joy!

   He Is Risen!

Centuries ago, two women were preparing for the walk to the tomb.  “Let’s bring plenty of oil, plenty of water to clean those wounds.  There are so many on His back!” A grief-stricken Mary said.  “All’s ready, dear sister.  We must go.”

The path was stony, and sadness was weighing them both down.  “The stone – how will we get past the stone?”

“The Roman will help…surely we won’t be denied dressing His body.”

They arrived in shock.  Stone already removed.  Sleeping guard nearby.

Two women walked in and were astonished to find an angel.  “What?  Where?” so many questions they had.

All was explained.  But there were four words that made them scurry and run.  Forgetting their tired feet, they were filled with renewed hope.  They had to tell the disciples.

   He Is Risen Indeed!
